Contingency Planning for Humanitarian Organizations
This course acts as a forward planning process in which scenarios and objectives are agreed, managerial and technical actions defined, and potential response systems put in place in order to prevent, or better respond to, an emergency or critical situation. RedR India has developed three-days module which equips participants to develop organizational level contingency plan through a four step process. The training is facilitated using mixed methods including pre-training data gathering, interactive power-point presentations and a write-shop during which participants conduct contextual analysis of their own operational area for identifying disaster risks, collectively agree and prioritise scenarios and develop rapid response plans. This training is can then be followed up by the technical support to the participating organisations to develop and finalise organization level contingency plans.
