Common Operational Response Essentials
The CORE training is a multi-sector basic humanitarian technical training course that aims to provide fundamental skills and knowledge on humanitarian work to individuals and organizations. It helps all humanitarian, development and government stakeholders who wish to gain a sound introduction and common understanding on Humanitarian Work, Disaster Risk Reduction and Capacity Building. The five-day course provides detailed knowledge and perspectives about humanitarian practice during various phases of the Disaster Management cycle with reference to key components of humanitarian action viz. Shelter, WASH, Logistics and Coordination. The schedule has the scope to be developed according to the organization’s mandates and interests. The sectors mentioned in the draft schedule can be replaced by others like Education in Emergencies, Health in Emergencies, Child Protection and others.
