Want to become a RedR Member?
RedR India manages a roster of selected professionals who are available to deploy for humanitarian and disaster risk reduction assignments. To become a member, a professional has to apply and undergo a selection process. An interested candidate goes through different stages which begins from the expression of interest/ nomination, followed by an application form, reference checks, personal interview and final completion of the recommended capacity building.
RedR India’s members provide humanitarian agencies, NGOs and UN bodies with capacities for meeting emerging humanitarian needs, especially rapid responses in natural disasters and conflict situations. In addition to the humanitarian response, our members support agencies for engaging in disaster risk reduction work and training/capacity building. Deployments are usually short term. They can vary in length from 2 weeks to 6 months.
The nature of these deployments range from rapid onset surge interventions within hours of disaster events to drafting of policies and governance frameworks impacting community resilience building. Our roster members work across a range of sectors and across a spectrum of organizations. The core areas that the roster deploys for are WASH, Shelter and Settlement Planning, Food and Nutrition, Livelihoods, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Child Protection and Education and Public Health. The deployed members perform a host of functions which include, but are not limited to, assessments, monitoring, mentoring, capacity building, project planning and implementation, coordination, advocacy, management and leadership.
