Community Based Disaster Risk Management
This five-days course equips DRR project coordinators and managers to gain knowledge and skills for managing CBDRM programmes. Emphasizing on community participation, this training course provides knowledge about guiding frameworks and approaches to CBDRM programming on one hand and provides opportunities to discuss linkages of CBDRM with sustainable livelihood, culture of prevention and disaster development linkages. This course also orients participants with the skills of participatory risk assessment, risk analysis and risk reduction planning. One-day fieldwork followed by the group work exercise on participatory risk assessment and risk reduction planning exposes participants to interaction and learning with at risk communities.
