RedR India Membership is an enriching experience that provides a platform for humanitarian professionals to engage in challenging and rewarding assignments. RedR members constitute the RedR roster that is availed by numerous government and non government organizations, including the ICRC, IFRC, UN bodies, I-NGOs and N-NGOs when they are looking for skilled human resource for their work. 

The application process for membership is free but stringent. An interested candidate goes through different stages which begins from expression of interest/ nomination, followed by an application form, reference checks, personal interview and finally completion of recommended capacity building.

RedR India’s members provide humanitarian agencies, NGOs and UN bodies with capacities for meeting emerging humanitarian needs, especially rapid responses in natural disasters and conflict situations. In addition to humanitarian response, our members support agencies for engaging in disaster risk reduction work and training/capacity building. Deployments are usually short term. They can vary in length from 2 weeks to 6 months.

Register members work, and have their background in a wide range of professional/technical fields; including:
  • Shelter and Site Planning
  • Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion
  • Water and Sanitation Engineering
  • Public health including Health and Hygiene Promotion
  • Food Security and Nutrition
  • Child Protection
  • Education
  • Civil (structural, construction and geotechnical) Engineering;
  • Fleet Management and Supply Chain Management;
  • Public relations, Media liaison and Mass Communication;
  • Project, Programme and Operations Management
  • Logsitics, Information, and Warehouse Management;
  • Telecommunications, IT and Data Communications;
  • International Humanitarian, Human Rights and Refugee Law;
  • Psychology and Sociology;
  • Gender Based Violence
  • Camp Management and Coordination
  • Livelihoods and Early Recovery
RedR members carry out a wide range of tasks in various fields including:
  • Emergency needs assessment;
  • Setting up emergency facilities and services to meet urgent humanitarian needs;
  • Providing logistics support to emergency teams (communications, transport, accommodation, facilities);
  • Project planning, contract management and reporting;
  • Staff training and capacity building with local partners and government personnel;
  • Community mobilisation and social services;
  • Humanitarian coordination (cluster meetings, liaising with government/agencies/NGOs);
  • Humanitarian protection and advocacy; and
  • Reconstruction and rehabilitation
  • Monitoring and evaluation
